I have recognized that the combination of my worsening asthma, and just general lack of conditioning over the last 5 months is going to be a challenge to overcome before hike season and some of the tough goals I have planned.
Due to a frustrating previous trip up Seymour, I went even earlier to avoid crowds, starting in the dark.
I suspect, that mostly due to weather, it was completely pointless to do so. I only encountered 1 person on the way up who must have gone up the face and lopped back becasue there were not tracks ahead of me. on the way down I came across 1 personn on skis and 3 Wanderungers on a callout.
The weather was rain and fine mist, and there was no snow left on the trees at all. It felt like the end of the snow season was coming up there but I know that just is never the case this early in the year. The peak: complete whiteout.
I took zero photos and I forgot to turn off the Nokia Sportracker at the right time so have no breadcrumb trail to post. Basically this trip was a 3 hour workout and my body appreciated it, but it was a bit depressing how weak my legs and cardio seem to have become.
The weather today would have been much better.
