I was turned back at the bottom of the bowl road at 630pm (I couldn't sleep the morning).
Later, I was allowed up to waht was one of the nicest days I've seen from the peak. I was the first up there and the next person was 10 min behind so breifly I had the peak to myself.
The snow was powdery, and a consistency I'd not experienced before. That being said, snowshoes were not required (but were helpful). Hiking boots would have been enough.
on my trip down, the peace I had experienced on the ascent was NOT there. Huge clubs of people spewing garbage and dog shit everywhere. Bring on hike season so we can get further from the city centres.
For those unaware, in BC Parks dogs must be leashed or risk a fine according to the park act.
