Statlu lake is beautiful! The drive up is lengthy but the forestry road is well groomed for the most part. The trail to the beginning of the lake is a bit overgrown but genererally straight forward. There is a turn off that some people miss just beyond what looks like a wash out area but it is marked. Trying to get to the far end is another story. I thank whoever went in with a chainsaw recently to clear it up a bit because it would have been extra tough without. It is overgrown, there are fallen trees/brush, and there are boulder fields. I would say definitely make the effort to get to the other side though!
